(interesting?) Iteration

Our project is basically takes on the use of the spine like in Tokyo Bay, but we are also suggesting that it can also be more of a web our drawings suggest that the spine imposed on top of the site plan takes over what it covers or touches. In this, the next iteration takes us to the idea of how the spine (or a web?) begins to reconfigure buildings that are in its way.

One of the infrastructure that we are looking at is streets simply because it of its 'spine-like' qualities (it connects, expands, reaches out etc) and how it can direct. Therefore perhaps through reconfiguring the streets as well as the buildings is an aim of creating and implementing this 'green connection' or 'green spine' of our design.

Drawing 1) By extending the streets of all different sizes from Melb CBD (flagstaff area) towards Docklands what is looks like is number of spines

Drawing 2) If the extents (they no longer have to be streets, only lines that suggest some sort of connection) are to be elevated and then connected
in some way

Drawing 3) On plan, if the extents/'streets' are connected in some way whenever they intersect (regardless of line weight/street size)...

Drawing 4) Imposed on site, can see what buildings can now be configured

Drawing 5) Cont'd

Questions to ask now are: What exactly are those 'extents' (if no longer streets) are they some structure? or doesn't have to be physical, can be a form of program!?

Fun begins

Hang on

An important realisation that the game has not been played in full only through the deployment.

There are relationships between through deployment, but the deployment stage of Battleships onto Docklands is only ONE PART of the game

In a sense, it is only ONE move...

Perhaps the most appropriate approach of design is

- deploy one thing/quality
- re-strategize (as one does in battleships, reflection of the effect of placing a shot in that cell)
- effects: occupation or activation of a space that is permanent)

- deploy again (same 'thing/quality'?) <--- dependent on strategy taken?)
- effects: occupation or activation of a space
sinking a ship equates to what?
Sinking suggests an entirety being affected...
- re-strategize...

Ugh too much thinking again... time for drawing >.>

Deployment

A retake on the 'Deployment' idea
Deployment of 'something' can be anything. So what can it be?

Docklands related:
Retail
Forms of public space including parks, courtyards? (so forth?)
Buildings
Water?! (it is a waterfront project...)

Tokyo Bay Project related:
Metabolist movement?
Mobility and a linear axis as the supposed 'highlight' of the design (whereby transportation is an important factor in the designers intent)
Hence... the designer (Tange) designs with a very solid and clear hierarchy? (this can somehow be applied onto site!)
Scale of Tokyo bay is IMMENSE... comparisons of scale or deploying different scales of ____
- Buildings?
- Roads?
- Some form of strategy?

Deployment of another form of strategy...
- re-populate
- re-vegetate
- re-iterate
- re-concentrate
- re-discover
- revitalise...

deployed through Battleships SuperWeapons?
